What exactly is NivShiksha?

It adapts to each child — focusing on their weak spots, celebrating every win with XP, badges, and levels, and turning everyday practice into real achievement.

Does NivShiksha use AI on children’s data?

Accepted Answer

No. NivShiksha uses a transparent, rules-based adaptive engine — not artificial intelligence or machine learning. There is no AI profiling or behavioural monitoring of children. Every personalization decision follows clear, auditable rules (mastery tracking and weak-topic selection), and we deliberately avoid machine-learning models on children’s data by design, in line with India’s DPDP Act 2023. This keeps your child’s learning private, predictable, and safe.

How is this different from tuition or coaching classes?

Unlike coaching classes, NivShiksha is available 24/7 on your phone or tablet. It adapts to each child individually — focusing more on topics they struggle with. It costs a fraction of typical tuition fees, and keeps kids motivated with XP points, levels, and streaks instead of pressure.

My child is in Grade 2. Is the app suitable for young children?

Absolutely. The app is designed with age-appropriate content for every class from 1 to 8. For younger children, lessons use simple language, visual explanations, and engaging animations. The difficulty scales with the grade, so a Class 2 student sees very different content from a Class 7 student.

Four subjects: English (vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, spelling, phonetics), Mathematics (arithmetic, geometry, algebra, logic), Science (physics, chemistry, biology, environment), and General Knowledge (current affairs, history, geography, sports, culture).

How does the Intro Tier work?

Sign up for the Intro Tier at just ₹9 and your child gets 14 days of access — first 2 chapters in each subject, 2 practice rounds per subject per day, full gamification (XP, badges, streaks), and basic statistics. Mock tests and competition access are available on the Basic and Premium plans, which you can upgrade to anytime.

Is there a monthly plan?

Yes. Basic is available as a standalone monthly plan at ₹499/month with no annual commitment, or as ₹1,499/year if you prefer to pay upfront (works out cheaper over a full academic year). Premium is annual-only, at ₹2,249/year.

What does it cost after the trial?

Basic costs ₹499/month (no annual commitment) or ₹1,499/year, and includes unlimited learning and practice across all chapters and all 4 subjects — focused purely on learning, with no exams. Premium is ₹2,249/year (about ₹187/month) and adds unlimited mock tests plus School & State championship access. National championships are open to students who qualify, for a separate per-event entry fee. Each subscription is activated for one student for their current grade for that academic year, and covers all 4 subjects for that grade — not all grades 1–8.

Can I switch from Basic to Premium later, or do I have to start over?

You don't lose anything by starting with Basic. If you're on an active Basic Annual plan, you can upgrade to Premium anytime from inside the app for a flat ₹799 — no need to buy a fresh Premium plan at full price. The upgrade unlocks unlimited mock tests and School & State championship access immediately, for the remainder of your current academic-year subscription.

Can I switch from Basic Monthly to Basic Annual?

Yes. If you started on Basic Monthly (₹499/month) and decide to commit for the year, you can switch to Basic Annual (₹1,499) from inside the app. You only pay the difference — the amount already paid for your current month is credited against the annual price, so you're never charged twice for the same period.

Why do subscriptions end on 31 March instead of exactly one year later?

NivShiksha subscriptions are aligned to the Indian academic year (which ends 31 March), not to the exact purchase date. So if you subscribe in September, your plan runs until 31 March, not a full 365 days — this keeps renewal timing in sync with your child moving to the next grade. If you buy an annual plan through the Apple App Store or Google Play, auto-renewal is automatically cancelled at that academic-year boundary so you're never billed into the wrong grade's plan without choosing to.

Can I see what my child is learning and how they are doing?

Yes. The parent dashboard shows exactly what your child practised, how long they studied, which topics are strong, which need work, and their streak history. You get actionable insights like "Your child needs help with fractions" — not just a score.

Does it work without the internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once lessons are downloaded, your child can learn and practise offline. Progress automatically syncs when the device connects to the internet again — perfect for travel or areas with patchy connectivity.

Schools can partner with us to bring full Premium access (learning, unlimited mock tests, and School & State championships) to every student at special school pricing — a bulk discount that means families pay less than the individual rate. Each parent gives their own consent in the app before their child starts, so enrolment is always opt-in. National championships are available per event for students who qualify. Do you offer refunds?

The Intro Tier is a low-cost, 14-day way to evaluate NivShiksha before committing to a longer plan. Because of this, paid plans (Intro Tier, Basic, or Premium) are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where a refund is required by law. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play follow their respective refund policies.
